Music Monday: Fascination

Fascination. That's the one word that comes to mind when I describe how I am feeling about my 7 year old daughter, Ella. She fascinates me. She's such an interesting mix of girly-girl, tom-boy, and turning in to quite an amazing athlete. Ella has run a handful of road races with me over the past few years, but this year she made it a New Year's Goal to race as many as she could, and I in turn made it a goal of mine to make sure that she did just that!! Today was my 5th race of 2013, and Ella's 2nd. But it was Ella's FIRST off-road adventure race. AND SHE ROCKED IT! 4 miles through the Withlacoochee Trail State Park and all of its rough terrain; soft unpacked sand, ravines, thorns, and so much more! I'll have a full recap later this week, but I am in utter fascination of my daughter.

If it seems a little time is needed Decisions to be made

The good advice of friends unheeded

The best of plans mislaid

Just looking for a new direction In an old familiar way

The forming of a new connection

To study or to play

And so the conversation turned

Until the sun went down

And many fantasies were learned On that day

Keep feeling fascination

Passion burning

Love so strong

Keep feeling fascination

Looking learning Moving on

Well the truth may need some Re-arranging

Stories to be told

And plain to see the facts are changing

No meaning left to hold

And so the conversation turned

Until the sun went down

And many fantasies were learned

On that day

And so the conversation turned

Until the sun went down

And many fantasies were learned

On that day

  • I love this blast from the past!  You've got me grooving and moving this Music Monday!  Great pick!  And so proud of your Ella!  Tell her I've never even done a trail run.  She's got one over me. Wink
