Last year I had the opportunity to run in a wide variety of races. Dirty Girl was one them, and I had a blast. I ran it with the Tampa Bay Bloggers (team Dirty Bloggers) and we had so much fun!
This year Dirty Girl is coming to the Tampa area on Saturday November 23rd. It's being held at the beautiful Little Everglades Ranch. I can't do it this year because I'm running with my daughter's the next day, and I can't be gone from the house all day in two consecutive days. The folks over at Dirty Girl have allowed me to gift my registration to one of you!!
I support Dirty Girl because they support empowering women and educating the women about the risks of breast cancer and supporting victims and survivors. Being the daughter of a survivor I support causes that support what my mom went through.
Here is more information about their race:
Dirty Girl is the original women-only national mud run series. It is an untimed obstacle course that welcomes women of all ages and athletic abilities, Dirty Girl Mud Run challenges women to break from their routine for a day, get out of their comfort zones, get dirty, and accomplish something brand new – all while having a blast. Every one of the obstacles—from the “Utopian Tubes” tunnel crawl to the “PMS (Pretty Muddy Stuff)” mud pit—is optional, so participants can skip anything they find too difficult. Forming teams is encouraged, and so are crazy team uniforms.
A Dirty Girl Mud Run comes with excitement, laughter, and camaraderie—as well as lots of music, food and drinks. From start to finish, it’s an unforgettable event and an incredible teambuilding experience.
Dirty Girl events attract thousands of women in each city they stop in, and they expect to reach over 350,000 participants by the end of 2013.
All women ages 14 and up are welcome to participate. NO TRAINING required!
Dirty Girl is a for-profit company that strongly believes in educating women about the risks of breast cancer and supporting victims and survivors.
In 2013, Dirty Girl plans to donate $250,000 to Bright Pink, a nonprofit organization focused on the prevention and early treatment of breast and ovarian cancers in young women.
Cancer survivors run for free at any event.
