My family was recently invited to #pushawaythescreen by visiting the ICE exhibit at the Gaylord Palms in Orlando.
From their website: "Join Frosty, everyone's favorite snowman, in a colorfully frozen retelling of this original Christmas classic! More than two million pounds of hand-carved ice sculptures featuring Frosty the Snowman, presented by Pepsi, including four ICE! slides."
We met Frosty. He lives in a cold cold world.
He lives in a world of 8 degree temperatures. The air was frigid. I'm a Florida girl. It was cold. Even with the blue parkas and gloves and hats, it was cold. My husband made it about 15 seconds before he said that it was too cold for him and he was going to wait for us out in the sun.
The kids and I hustled down the ice slides. Well, they hustled down. I took pictures.
My camera began freezing or fogging and we were cold. So we did hustle through pretty quickly. We saw a train.
And one of the ice carvers was on set doing some carving work. He is certainly very dedicated to his craft.
We quickly came across the beautiful ICE Nativity and large angel sculpture.
And there was the exit sign! We made it through!
The Gaylord Palms was kind enough to include tickets for us to get a hot beverage! The kids each had hot cocoa and I had coffee. It warmed us right up!
ICE will be returning to the Gaylord Palms in November, 2014 and I hope you check it out.
