Iron Girl Cleawater 2014 Giveaway and Discount Code

by jennifer22. January 2014 14:31

Have you been thinking about doing a 5K or a 1/2 Marathon? Iron Girl is an awesome running series for women only.

Last year was my first year running in Iron Girl, and I did it with my oldest daughter. We had so much fun!

I haven't decided yet which distance I'm doing this year!! I loved being able to do the 5K with my little Pixie, but I have really enjoyed walking the longer distances, so I'm torn. If I had a buddy to walk the 1/2 marathon with I would do it in a heartbeat. But the idea of walking 13.1 miles ALONE sounds awful. If no one steps up to walk with me, then I probably will do the 5K with one of my daughter's. Probably Ella since Haley did it last year.

I really do think women's only events help to promote the bond of sisterhood and unity among women. Too often we hear of women tearing other women down. We should be empowering our fellow women, lifting them up and helping them to achieve their goals.

Iron Girl believes in that philosophy. Iron Girl’s mission is to empower women toward a healthy lifestyle. The Iron Girl event experience provides women with a competitive platform and amenities such as: a post-race catered Breakfast Café, performance shirts sized just for women, professional timing, personalized race bibs, custom finisher medals, post-race giveaways and much more. The Web site is filled with training tips, guest columnists and nutrition information. Iron Girl has also furthered its offerings with the addition of with items such as hydration and nutrition products, jewelry and sports bags. The Iron Girl brand has been featured in a range of media outlets to include USA Today, The New York Times, Runner’s World, Family Circle, Ok! Magazine and Women’s Health.

I would love to win a race entry to Iron Girl Clearwater 2014!  I ran the 5K in Clearwater last year and was my age group winner!  My prize was a necklace that reads..."Every girl has an iron core!"  Such a true statement and proud to have one of these Smile  It was a phenomenal event with such a feeling of sisterhood!  I would definitely choose the Half this time around!  The course seems beautiful with lots of challenges too!

I am doing my very first 5K this Sun (4 days away!).  I would probably do the 5K again b/c of the bridges but I would be very, very happy to walk the 1/2 with you.  You're right all girls (women) events are a bonding opportunity.

I would love to run/walk the half with you! I ran the 5k last year and the event was a lot of fun. This year five of my girlfriends are all running the half marathon but I had a few financial setbacks & was unable to come up with the registration fee. I am now scrambling to come up with the 5k fee but I really want to do the half with my girlfriends...and you too Jenny. I am also planning on bringing my almost 20-yr old daughter, who is in need of a little motivation, with me to the event in hopes that it will inspire her to get moving. I would love for her to see me finish the half and hopefully be proud of her old mom.

I have never run an iron girl and I need a little girl power after my husband left me and our four year old right before Christmas. I'd do either the half or the 5k!

I would love to win the 5k entry.  I have started running to get myself in shape.    I want to be healthier for myself and my sons.  Signing up for these races helps keep me motivated in my training.  I have found peace (it's the only time my mind is not 100 places) in running and really hope it's something that will be life changing for me.

I would LOVE to do Iron Girl this yr!  It has been on my must-do list for yrs now!  I went last yr to support some girlfriends as I was recovering from an injury.  That's when I first heard about your story.  My friend told me about you and that you were going to be a guest of honor at the beginning of the race.  I have been following you ever since Smile. I would choose the 5k to run or I would love to walk the half with you and/or some girls,  Love woman power!

Really enjoyed reading about your Iron Girl experience! I ran the 13.1 in 2012 wanted to do it again in 2013. unfortunately it conflicted with the Boston marathon. This year it doesn't, and I would just love to run it again, such a well organized, beautiful and challenging event! As a matter of budget, I didn't sign up, but if I won this giveaway, I'd be so ecstatic! Denise Taylor shared your post and that is how I learned about it. Even if I don't win, thank you for doing this Smile

I would love to run the half! I did the Long Haul 100 last weekend and I ran the 100 furlong(12.5 miles). Before that day the most I had ever run was a 1/4 marathon(6.55 miles) back in November so I was nervous to begin with. I ended up going an extra loop and ended up with 15.25 miles! I am extremely proud of myself for accomplishing what I did but I feel like I was kind of cheated on my first half marathon experience. No medal and I didn't feel like I could brag about my first half. I definitely bragged about my distance but the half was kind of a milestone for me. Know what I mean? Anyway, I would love to win this so I can say that I ran an official half marathon Smile Thanks for the giveaway!

I would love to win 5K or half marathon!  I've never done Iron Girl and would love to experience it! Most I've ran is a 5K and doing a 10K this February, but would love to challenge myself to a 1/2 marathon! Talk about an accomplishment! Thanks for sharing and for the giveaway!

Great giveaway! I have not done this race before. I'd hoped to last year but the timing didn't work out. I would love to do the half. It's my favorite distance (though I do love 5Ks as well!).  My goal is to do one race per month this year and April is open :0)   So far I'm doing Tybee half and Donna 26.2 half in February. I'm an ambassador for Donna, and Tybee will be my first time. Congratulations on doing this! You totally can complete the half if you are already walking/running some. Just train slowly and remember to hydrate and eat while running!

I would love to win an entry for the Iron Girl 1/2 Marathon. I ran Iron Girl for my first 1/2 in 2012, so I want to make it a tradition! I also ran it last year, but I had switched up my eating habits and had a hard time on the course - I had terrible leg cramps and almost couldn't finish. I'm hoping to make Iron Girl 2014 my year to conquer those bridges and redeem myself for last years race! I love this race for so many reasons. The sentimental value of it being my first race, the VIEW from the bridges (not the bridges themselves lol), and the awesome course. I also love the medals =)

I have run both the Iron Girl 5K and half marathon before.   If I won, I would choose the half marathon to redeem my less than stellar run two years ago when I ran the half in honor of my late Grandfather whose birthday was race day that year.
