Florastor Probiotic-Review

I’m going to be honest here.  Prior to receiving Florastor, I have never in my life taken a Probiotic. I always assumed that the Greek yogurt I was eating was enough to keep my gut health in good shape.

I was wrong. I wasn’t eating yogurt with enough frequency to see any positive effects from the probiotic. My breakfast habits change frequently. I’m working on it.

Probiotic, literally means ''for life,'' and refers to living organisms that can result in a health benefit when eaten in adequate amounts. Your body needs to have a healthy amount of ''good'' bacteria in the digestive tract, and many yogurts are made using active, good bacteria. One of the words you’ll be hearing more of in relation to yogurt is ''probiotics.''

But what about for those of us who don’t eat yogurt often enough to see the probiotic health benefit?

This is where Florastor can really help.

It’s a capsule.

Florastor is a yeast-based probiotic that contains 250mg of the probiotic strain Saccharomyces boulardii lyo (wow…that’s a mouthful!) and it’s vegetarian and gluten-free!

I began taking the capsules the next morning, not quite sure what to expect.

A little bit of honesty here. For the first two weeks I had pretty bad gas. My poor husband. But I did some research and learned that it’s totally normal for that to happen to some people, and the side effects should go away within 2 weeks. They did. I’ve been taking it now a full month and I feel great. I’ve been listening to my gut (literally) and I’m using the probiotics to help me get the most out of my diet by facilitating the breakdown and absorption of nutrients, carbs, and sugars.

I workout 5 days a week. Did you know that exercise causes a change in blood flow away from the intestines and toward muscles being trained? I didn’t. It makes sense when I think about it, but until I read that tidbit from Florastor I hadn’t thought about it. Probiotics promote the body’s own natural intestinal flora to help keep you active and on the go!

Florastor Probiotics are a supplement that I will be continuing to take as part of my normal daily routine.

Do you take Probiotics?

this is so interesting and so timely! My husband was just telling to start supplementing with probiotics for my allergies. And then, a totally random stranger told me to get my gut right and it would help with so many other issues. I will look into this! Thank you!

I SWEAR by probiotics!  I have been taking them daily for about 1 year now and I do NOT get sick.  I hope I didn't jinx myself!  I ran out for about 2 days and the gas and bloating started right away!  LOVE them!

My doc recommended florastor a couple of years ago when I had to take a heavy duty antibiotic. Now I swear by it! I had taken acidophilus off & on for years but florastor was much more effective. They also make a powder version for kids who can't swallow pills. I mix this into my son's milk or applesauce when he is having tummy troubles and it helps.
